"I am a Professor of Civil Engineering at Merrimack College and Columbia University. I received my Ph.D. and MPhil in Civil Engineering with a minor in Operations Research from Columbia University. Also, I worked as a research scientist at New York University in 2016.
Being passionate about teaching, particularly teaching quantitative subjects, I have been involved in tutoring and instructing a variety of math and science subjects to high school, undergraduate and graduate students, and professionals for more than 22 years. My teaching philosophy aims to prepare my students for becoming successful, confident, and capable of tackling challenges that they are facing in their education. My students not only succeeded in their courses and obtained excellent grades, but also they became able to develop and follow their passions successfully and get admission to the top universities in the U.S. and the world.
I received the Edward G. Roddy Outstanding Teacher of the Year award (the most prestigious award for a professor at Merrimack) in my third year, making me the youngest recipient in the award history. I have been also the recipient of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning Faculty Fellowship and the Zampell Family Faculty Fellowship. Moreover, I was nominated for the Presidential Awards for Outstanding Teaching by Graduate Students for two years during my doctoral studies. My doctorate GPA is 4.03 out of 4 and my GRE Quantitative Score is 800 out of 800.
Before joining Columbia, I was a project developer in one of the largest engineering consulting firms in Asia for 3 years and was involved in the development of several infrastructure projects funded by the World Bank. I worked as a consultant for the NYC Department of Design and Construction and helped establish engineering project management best practices in the agency. I developed guidelines for project management to be used for the agency's $15 billion dollar project portfolio and instructed over 120 project managers in project scheduling." less...
