"Hello, I am Dr. Matthew Fields and have served as a science teacher/tutor for about 20 years and a school administrator for almost ten years. Over my time as a teacher, I tutored & taught some of the most gifted minds in the Dallas/Fort-Worth area - my students won multiple scholastic awards and were state competitors on multiple occasions. In fact, the Academic Decathlon team at my school traveled all the way to the national competition for the first time in 2 decades under my leadership. During my time as a teacher, I served as the science department chair, the lead PreAP Chemistry teacher, and lead AP Biology teacher for one of the most successful AP programs in Texas. I have tutored over 2500 students over 15 years while operating my own tutoring business. I transitioned my tutoring business to this online platform at Wyzant after becoming a principal in a small school in Texas. Since stepping into the role of principal, our school has had a phenomenal increase in student academic achievement (for the 2021-2022 school year our school had a school report card rating of 99 out of 100 points - this ties us for highest in the entire state of Texas). Though I have a new role, I have loved continuing my work as a professional tutor.

I have served as a curriculum writer/designer for several districts, as a consultant for NMSI, and as an AP Reader for the College Board. My experiences are unique and provide an insight that most others do not have. My students continuously perform significantly above the average in virtually every measurable way (whether that be a competition or test).
