I have tutored hundreds of students. Although many came to me afraid of math, most of them left with a well-earned sense of confidence and mastery. You will too. I promise that you will learn what you want to know.

My style is personable, engaging, and easygoing. I have extensive knowledge of statistics, GRE and SAT test-taking, and problem-solving. I zero in on precisely what's giving you trouble, and will break each problem into pieces you can understand and learn. I am eager to work with students who are falling behind, as well as students that want to get ahead or explore outside of the normal curriculum.

While a graduate student at UC Berkeley, I received the University teaching award for statistics, and my undergraduate students consistently gave me the top rating in the department. While there, I tutored professors, grad students, and undergrads in math, advanced statistics and data analysis. I have also successfully tutored many high school students (though I prefer not to tutor students below high school level, and do not tutor calculus).

I have worked for both Kaplan and McGraw-Hill designing testing materials for tests such as the GRE, SAT, and ACT. I know the ins and outs of how tests are constructed and how to maximize your score, and am happy to share my knowledge with you.

I live in Hercules, and do not travel more than a few miles for tutoring. If you don't live nearby, I work online all the time, or you will need to come to me.
