Previously, I've been involved in one-on-one tutoring, mainly with the goal of helping students prepare for exams. I did this through high school and my early years of college before my classes took up too much of my time. Generally, I was tutoring at a peer-to-peer level, so as a high schooler I was tutoring high schoolers, and at college, I was tutoring college students. My methods were pretty consistent throughout with my main tool to assist in learning being demonstrations of practice problems, usually referenced from their coursework or textbook, so I could explain how their coursework or textbook saw the process. Thus, in the event they forget the final answer, they can learn it from the text again. I also did some work on teaching specific topics outside of exam season, but mostly my work was focused on students who were panicking about big exams and had forgotten most of what they needed to know." less...
