"I have been a tutor for six years, working with students from elementary school to college. From 2019 to 2020, I tutored at ExamIQ in New York, teaching mathematics and biology to elementary, middle, and high school students, occasionally covering English. To tailor my approach, I asked parents (or high school students) to outline topics they were covering, struggling with, or anticipated difficulties in. I also used diagnostic questions to assess new students’ levels. My teaching process included introducing topics, providing examples, and guiding students through problem-solving. Homework was assigned weekly to reinforce learning, often at a level above their classroom material. While I started with in-person tutoring, I transitioned to Zoom after the pandemic began.
In college, I tutored at Yaizy, an online platform, where I led group classes on programming and game design in Roblox. I guided groups of 5–6 students in designing game levels while teaching fundamental programming concepts. Additionally, I was an undergraduate teaching assistant, holding office hours, designing practice problems, and leading discussions for courses like Introductory Computer Science, Abstract Mathematics & Logic for Computer Science, and Algorithm Design. Concurrently, I conducted research in neuroscience, focusing on machine learning models to simulate how the brain's visual system develops.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Computer Science (double major). My professional experience includes internships in cybersecurity and software engineering, and I currently work full-time as a software engineer. My diverse background in teaching, education, and professional experience equips me to help students excel in mathematics, programming, software design, biology, and neuroscience." less...
