"My name is Katarzyna, and I have been teaching for 16 years. I attended SUNY Old Westbury and obtained dual Bachelor of Science degree in Childhood and Special Education (1-6). Afterwards, I attended QUNY Queens College where I received Master of Science in Education in Literacy. Since I am a teacher, I attend many trainings pertaining to education, social-emotional training, and new curriculum. I have three professional teaching certificates: Childhood Education (Grades 1-6), Students with Disabilities (Grades 1-6), and Literacy (Birth-Grade 6).

I have been teaching for the last 16 years at P.S. 34. I am a special education teacher and have been teaching students in self-contained classrooms. I have though grades 3, 4, and 5 (mostly bridge classes). Last year I was a staff developer training teachers at my school. I believe that children learn best by doing. This is why I include a lot of hands-on materials, kinesthetic activities, different strategies to learn a skill, and positive reinforcements.
