I have a PhD from UC Berkeley in artificial intelligence. I've worked at Google, and just recently joined a founding industry team as a machine learning scientist. I also taught myself lutherie in 9th grade, and have been building my own electric guitars as a hobby ever since (from scratch - I specialize in extended range and multiscale instruments). I understand that having the right resources and mentorship make a huge difference.

I've helped numerous working professionals pivot to new career opportunities. I've also mentored students in K12 programs and beyond as they pursue ambitious projects (robotics, 3D design, crafts) and career aspirations.

At UC Berkeley, I have mentored 60+ community college transfer students from underrepresented backgrounds as an assistant for T-PREP. My mentees have obtained GPAs that are on average 0.4 points higher than their class, and have gone on to achieve internships/jobs at Google, NASA, NBCUniversal, SpaceX, Amazon, Meta, etc. I've volunteered at Berkeley as a fellowship writing mentor, and have helped many students tell their stories and win scholarships worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. I was recently recognized as a participant in NextProf Nexus, a preeminent invited conference for promising faculty candidates geared towards increasing diversity in academia.

My research has also included K12 outreach - I helped design a lesson plan on sustainability, vehicle electrification, and connected and automated driving for K12 schools in Pennsylvania, including designing a miniature, modular, hybrid-electric (including a miniature nitro combustion engine) remote-control car for autonomous driving demonstrations.
