"Hi, I'm Diya! I'm currently a second year student at UC Berkeley studying Data Science and Cognitive Science.
I bring over two years of tutoring experience, having worked at Kumon, where I primarily guided middle school students in Math and English. In my second year, I had the privilege of working with a cohort of 4-5 students with special needs, focusing on math. This experience reinforced the importance of patience and adaptability, as I tailored my teaching approach to meet their unique learning styles.
Additionally, I worked as an assistant SAT tutor at a friend's tutoring business during the summer before college. Here, I helped students prepare for standardized tests by reinforcing fundamental concepts and sharing personalized strategies that were instrumental in my own SAT success.
It’s incredibly fulfilling to help students grasp challenging concepts, watch their confidence grow, and see them succeed. I take a student-centered approach, prioritizing not only academic progress but also building meaningful connections. Whether working one-on-one or in groups, I strive to foster a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel understood and empowered.
I not only prioritize building confidence in students but also making a deep connection with them and understanding what works best for them. Whether in a one-on-one setting or in a group, my approach is always student-centered. I believe in fostering an environment where students feel supported. I am excited to work with students of all backgrounds and welcome any resources or suggestions from students or parents to enhance the learning experience.
I welcome students of all backgrounds and encourage collaboration with students and parents to enhance the learning experience. Please feel free to reach out with questions or to schedule a session. I’m excited to work with you!" less...
