"Hi Students, I am a PEN award-winning writer who turned to teaching English grammar as a sideline and discovered a hidden talent for it. I have been teaching full time for eight years and there is no question I cannot answer when it comes to grammar. Every answer is vividly illustrated with lots of examples too. I teach formal English and all of the more informal idioms as well. I am American, but having living for many years in London, I can show you all the differences.
Eight years of experience teaching ESL, TOEFL preparation, grammar, and writing at Kings Education in Brookline, Massachusetts, and at Roxbury Community College in Boston. Prior to that, I spent many years as a journalist--at the Washington City Paper and the Washington Post. I have published three books. My last book won a prestigious PEN New England LL Winship Award for Nonfiction. Most of all, I am a grammar nerd. I can show you how to apply what you learn to what you use in the real world. I am very hands on in that sense.
Please feel free to reach out to me. I am very easy to get along with--as easygoing as it gets. I can be flexible with your schedule. I prefer to teach online given the state of the world and everyone quarantining. I am new to online teaching, but I have plenty of resources and I promise you this: you will not find a better teacher. I truly believe that I can make your English soar farther and faster than anyone else you can find anywhere. I am that good, all modesty aside." less...
