"Hi, I'm Abby! My love for learning greatly contributes to my passion for teaching. I've always known I wanted to travel and continue learning after school. Both passions compelled me to learn Spanish, which helps greatly with my Spanish speaking students. I have teaching experience with a variety of subjects and age groups. I've taught adults and children in academic settings as well as athletics, including snowboarding and equestrian camps. Since tutoring is so versatile and rewarding, I knew this was the right career path for me.

I’ve traveled to many different parts of the world, from India to Uruguay. Traveling has helped immensely in my teaching experience by exposing me to a variety of cultures and accents, enabling me to better tailor my teaching to each individual student and their needs. My passion for learning and traveling also fuels a love for and knowledge of history. I took a Vocational Agricultural program for 2 years, which expanded my knowledge in the scientific field. I excel at math and have taken advanced courses throughout my education. While I specialize in English based subjects and ESL, I have a variety of tutoring experience across many subjects.

I completed a TQUK-accredited Level 5 TEFL course. This included online academic work, such as developing instructional lesson plans and engaging activities, and in-person student teaching and observation of grades K-12. Student teaching involved not only ESL but also individual student support in core school subjects. I have since completed additional training for teaching ESL to young learners and business English.

My goal is to help my students become better independent learners. I want you to succeed and feel confident on your own. My job is to get you to that point.
