"I am patient, friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I know every student is different, and different approaches work well for different students. I have been tutoring for nearly 5 years, tutoring and mentoring local high school students, focusing primarily on high school science, math, writing, and test preparation.
-------------------------------------
My approach is "concept first" -- I first make sure that the student is understanding the "why" and the topic being presented. I go "concept-first" because I know that if my student understands the concept, they will do far better on their tests and leave with a stronger understanding of the topic.
-------------------------------------
I am a current medical school applicant. I am proud to say I got a 31 on my ACT and an 85th percentile MCAT (Medical Colleges Admissions Test) -- I know how to strategize and study for standardized exams.
I have a Master's Degree in Medical Sciences (immunology, physiology, anatomy, biochemistry, etc) and did my Bachelor's of Science in Biology, with extra focus on neuroscience and biochemistry. I am also a polyglot: I speak Polish and Italian fluently, and am currently teaching myself Spanish.
-------------------------------------
All in all: I know how to study, how to tackle tough subjects, and how to succeed academically.
-------------------------------------
I love helping students meet their true academic potential. Science can be intimidating, and I'm here to help. I know you can do it, so let's get started. :)" less...
