"I have always loved teaching and sharing my enthusiasm for science. I began tutoring as an undergraduate student at Yale where I taught introductory biology as part of a peer-tutoring program. During my time in graduate school I served as a teaching assistant for an upper level Biochemistry class at Hunter College. I have developed a curriculum for 18 college freshmen taking Bard College's Citizen Science course, conducted hands-on learning experiences at a DIY Biolab in Brooklyn, and am currently a computational science educator at a science museum in New York.

I am detail oriented and patient with a talent for clear and effective communication. I love the moment when a student's eyes light up with sudden understanding and they are ready to take the next leap forward. I take a careful, personalized approach to tutoring, paying attention to the individual needs of my students and crafting a curriculum that works for them. I am creative and adaptable, always ready with an alternative explanation or another resource. My enthusiasm for the material I teach makes for an engaging, effective, (and hopefully fun) lesson.

I graduated from Yale in 2011 with a B.S. with distinction in the major for Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. I worked in research labs during my time at Yale and continued in graduate school, earning a Master's in Biological Sciences from Rockefeller University. I have taught introductory college biology, college biochemistry, and infectious diseases for non-science majors. I have a wealth of resources and lesson plans for these topics, but I am also happy to work with a student's existing assignments or curriculum.
