"For the last 3 years I have been working in the University of Mississippi Writing center tutoring both undergraduates and graduate students in writing across a variety of subjects. During that time I was also responsible for mentoring 3 students while they completed their honors thesis for the Honors College on campus. Other teaching experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate level science classes. I have some experience with younger students, but I haven’t had much of an opportunity to work more with them in recent years.

I enjoy helping students come to understand science. Most sciences have a reputation for being too difficult and I dislike the stigma that people believe you are not smart if you do not do well in sciences. All students have the same potential to excel and everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. Learning how to overcome those learning weaknesses is more important than knowing where you are strongest.
