"Hello! My name is Lauren and I am a Biology, Chemistry and Human Anatomy & Physiology teacher. I am PA level II certified in secondary education, specifically for Biology (yes, I know the Keystone exam) and Chemistry and am almost into my 10th year of teaching. I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Denison University (Granville, OH) as well as a Masters of (Multicultural) Education from Eastern University.

Teaching wasn't my first career: Prior to teaching, I spent over a decade in the field of medical technology (blood platelets) educating diverse adult learners and managing a large sales territory within the U.S. and Canada. I have a passion for teaching the sciences to all ages and enjoy making lesson material both creative and interesting for each of my students.

For my high school students: I was Athlete of the Year my senior year (cross country/track/swimming), graduated as a high honor student and attended a top University that continues to remain high in national rankings. I completely understand the challenges that come with dedicating one's time to both academics and sports!

For my college & career bound students: I was a Biology Major/Chemistry minor (yes, I even took Organic chemistry!) and am also a coach on presentations and interviews (whether college or career). During undergrad, I was a rush counselor for my sorority and an 11-time All American for Women's Varsity Swimming. The most important thing that I learned was how to manage my time between school, sports and then everything else. Sometimes, you just need a different explanation of the material (other than your professor) and/or a more strategic way to make the most out of your classroom time so that you can move on and enjoy all of the other aspects of life.
