"My name is Sohil, and I am currently completing my last semester in Columbia University, New York. Being born and raised in Silicon Valley, California, I caught the computer science bug early on. Since then, I have taken a wide variety of courses in computer science, including AP Computer Science in Java (score: 5), data structures, and computer architecture. I am also finishing up my computer science concentration at Columbia, additionally exposing me to C and Python.

As a side passion, I enjoy problem solving, so I have also immersed myself in learning math and statistics in high school. I have taken AP Calculus BC, AP Physics C, and SAT Math II Subject Test, having earned perfect scores on all those exams. My approach to teaching in both math and computer science involves helping students build the necessary problem solving/reasoning skills to solve any problem they encounter. I believe this will better prepare students to engage with the material rather than simply looking for answers to questions.

At Columbia, my main area of study is biology and chemistry. My quest for learning biology began in high school, when I conducted research in neurogenesis in primates. I continued doing research in a microbiology lab while at Columbia. In all, I have taken an uncountable number of courses in biology and chemistry, ranging from virology and physiology to developmental biology! I am also a teaching assistant for the Introduction to Biology course at Columbia, mainly working with college undergraduates. I have taken the SAT Chemistry Subject test, AP Biology, and AP Chemistry in high school, earning perfect scores on all those exams. Finally, I have earned perfect scores (132/132) on both the MCAT chemistry and biology sections. I will be attending UCSF School of Medicine this fall.
