"My first Biology class, in 6th grade, sealed the deal - this was definitely what I wanted to study. I wasn't naturally good in math and chemistry, so I took extra courses in those subjects in college. I've been teaching since my senior year in college, starting with a course in Human Biology for non-science majors at Brown University.
Working on my PhD, I taught General Biology, Human Anatomy (with cadavers), and Vertebrate Anatomy; and also assisted on a 3-week ecology field trip in Mexico. At the college level I teach Physiology, Nutrition, Environmental Science, Evolution,
Medical Terminology; my students are non-science majors and students studying for careers in health care.
I have over 20 years of teaching experience at the college level. I teach at the City Colleges of Chicago and tutor Biology and Chemistry in the Academic Success Center at Wright College; I've also taught at Devry, Roosevelt and Northeastern Universities in the Chicago area.
I love science, especially biology; my many students continue to help me understand how to describe and explain various subjects, especially when they may seem complicated and confusing.
We can work together one-on-one, or in small groups. I'm happy to meet parents or anyone else invested in your education, and answer any questions you have.
