"My name is Alberto. I've been tutoring students one-on-one since 2014 and have experience helping students in their homes with mathematics from grades 5-12. I like to work with students individually and when necessary I go back to the basics to create a strong foundation of learning.

Although I work solo, I have taken and passed the Florida Teacher Certification Exam for Mathematics grades 6-12. While I can teach elementary school math, my focus is on Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, and Geometry.

Math can often be misunderstood to be a rigid process with convoluted rules. However, I like to approach it with practicality in mind, making sure that you understand why what you are learning is useful to your life or at the very least show you how the math you learn in class is an important stepping stone to understanding the bigger picture. My biggest influences with this style were my Calculus and Physics teachers because they offered an engineer's perspective and understood that theory is easier to understand once you have something tangible to offer.
