"Hello! My name is Cooro, and I'm a mentor that specializes in preparing students of all ages to become self-sufficient in their endeavors. My main aim is to equip my students with all the tools and tricks they need to establish their own foundation, from which they can set off to accomplish their goals without my help. After all, I believe that all people are capable of accomplishing their goals— I simply help give support and guidelines on how they can get started.
My background and expertise is in the sciences, specifically chemistry. I hold a B.S. with honors in chemistry from Haverford University, a masters in chemistry from Brown Univeristy, and a significant amount of experience from my time as an A.B.D. PhD candidate at Brown. I've contributed to multiple research publications on green nanocatalyst applications, and I have demonstrated that I'm able to clearly communicate those technical concepts to a general audience through Brown's Research Matters Seminar (2022, available on YouTube). I've also taught over +240 undergraduates on concepts and lab techniques related to general and organic chemistry through my 4 years as a teaching assistant at Brown. I've also run my own personal tutoring service for many years, teaching all matter of STEM subjects (chemistry, physics, math, standardized test prep) and wellness/fitness to high school and college students.
If you're interested in working with me, please feel free to reach out and start a conversation with me. I'm open about my teaching process and what you can expect when working with me. Please be advised that I expect students to have previously engaged on some level with their material before coming to work with me, as this practice helps to greatly improve the efficiency of our sessions. If you're not sure how to do that or get started, I'd be happy to explain and help out before our first meeting." less...
