"My name is Tomas Diaz-Wahl, and I am an recent graduate from California State University Monterey Bay, concentrating in Network and Security. I served as the TA for the Software Design course for one year and the TA for both the Network Security and Network Administration courses. Additionally, I have experience working as a teacher’s aide and tutor at the Redwood City School District in the Bay Area and as a tutor on Wyzant. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, with over five years of experience tutoring in Computer Science, Math, and Spanish.

I am passionate about software design and object-oriented programming, with extensive experience in Linux/Unix, Python, C/C++, Java, Kotlin, C#, SQL, and JavaScript. I have a strong background in Discrete Mathematics, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Physics, earning A's in both Calculus 1 and 2. I have also received A's in Software Design, Network Security, and Network Administration. I have tutored students in calculus, physics, and statistics.

Fluent in Spanish due to my Chilean heritage, I grew up speaking Spanish at home. I continued studying Spanish through high school, achieving a score of 5 on the Spanish Language AP exam. I have tutored elementary Spanish and worked with foreign transfer students from Spanish-speaking countries.

I work well with students of all ages and have a passion for teaching. My experience includes tutoring Math to Spanish speakers and working with students with learning differences.

I am on track to graduate with a BS in Computer Science in December 2024, currently holding a GPA of 3.6. I also have an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science from Long Beach City College. My Senior Capstone project received the CS Faculty Choice Award.
