"I believe that all children can learn given the right opportunity and methods. I have found through experience both as a tutor and as a teacher that a common factor is a lack of self-confidence. Students need to develop problem-solving skills and to think for themselves.
I have experience in life skills, inclusion and resource classrooms. I have training and experience with students with visual impairments, autism spectrum disorders, down syndrome as well as some other genetic disorders. I modify instructional methods to individualize for what works best for individual students. I also attempt to make learning practical in every day life. I am also experienced with reading, composing and applying IEP goals/objectives as well as modifications.
I enjoy math and find it one of the most critical skills along with reading for success as a student and later as a member of society. I strive to make math understandable and applicable to real world situations.
I LOVE Science and continue to be intrigued by it. Science helps us to better understand our world.
I encourage you to contact me and to work out a schedule that works for both of us. I will treat you with respect as an individual." less...
