Tutoring has always been extremely gratifying to me. The level of improvement, interest, and hard work students show on a daily basis humbles me. I continue to try to relate to all students and help them overcome any obstacle. Furthermore, I believe that regardless of one's cultural and educational background, learning and success should never be hindered. With proper guidance, I know that everyone can achieve his or her best, and helping each of my students with their own process is what I love most about tutoring.
Additionally, I have significant experience working with students whose second language is English, as well as working with non-traditional students.
Student success story:
A student who initially took the MCAT and received a 512 came to me for tutoring with a goal score of 517–518. We spent the first hour of tutoring determining the student's weaknesses in all areas, from content to strategy to scheduling. We then proceeded to build a schedule that placed emphasis on active practice and review with practice questions and practice tests, all while avoiding repeating prior tests and prior question banks. We also tailored the tutoring sessions to focus on the student's weaknesses, which at that point were CARS and chem/phys. Every couple of weeks we would then reassess where the student was at and revise the schedule to align with the student's current strengths and weaknesses. 12 weeks later, the student took the MCAT and scored a 520." less...
