"I am an enthusiastic elementary educator who has experience teaching all subjects across elementary. I am certified in early elementary through 8th grade as a generalist, am certified in Special Education, and am certified in English as a Second Language. I have specialized training and experience teaching in both reading and in math. I am going into my 10th year as a public school teacher next year.

I have extensive training and experience in teaching through project-based approaches. I also have recently completed the Texas Educational Agency's Reading Academy, which is a 120-hour training for reading instruction for teachers in K-3rd.

I enjoy getting to know students and figure out how to help them see their strengths. I come from a psychology background in my undergraduate studies and added on a teaching certification through alternative certification about 9 years ago.
