"I was born in former Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic). I have worked with schools and nonprofits to help young people be active in their community. In 2010 I came to the U.S. to work on my doctorate in Community Development. After graduation I switched gears and earned a Teaching Certificate. I have taught and tutored students of all ages from kindergarten to high school, as well as college students and older adults. Currently I am working as Community Impact Coordinator at a Food bank in San Bernardino County, California.

My subjects

Social Studies: I am passionate about seeing how history, culture, and geography influence how people are involved in their community. Between 2019-2020 I taught about early American History, the American Revolution, and 20th Century History as an 8th Grade Social Studies teacher in the Deer Valley Unified School District in Arizona.

Czech Language: I attended Czech grade school up to 5th grade. Later on, I completed 4 years of Czech high school and 7 years at a Czech University. I would love to work with anyone wanting to learn Czech, be it kids from a family with Czech roots, or any language enthusiast!

K-6th: Between 2016-2019 I taught K-6 students as a substitute teacher in school districts in Arizona. During that time, some of my favorite moments were substitute assignments with younger students and students with mild cognitive disabilities.

Additionally, I love working with students of all levels of academic ability. I enjoy tutoring students who find it hard to concentrate, because I dealt with the same when I was a child. I also love designing fun school activities and assignments that challenge students who are looking for additional enrichment.

My tutoring usually takes place virtually, but I also offer in-person tutoring in San Bernardino and nearby cities. I am experienced with teaching online using application such as Zoom, Canvas, Kahoot, Padlet, Microsoft, Google and, of course, Wyzant.
