"Hi! My name is Olga, and I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) this past May with a cumulative 4.0/4.0 GPA. I have a BS in neurobiology and a minor in biomedical engineering. Currently, I am going through the medical school application process for matriculation in 2025. In my free time, I enjoy working out, cooking, and reading.
I have always had a profound love for learning and teaching. As a student myself, I believe the most important part of learning is having a teacher who connects with their students, is able to adapt to different learning styles, and can simplify complex content. These are the three core pillars I stand by when teaching.
My experience in tutoring started as early as high school when I was a peer tutor for mathematics and biology. As I attended university, I gained experience as a teaching assistant and grader where I would hold weekly office hours, create and grade exams and homework questions, and, most importantly, help my students understand and not just memorize the content they were struggling with.
As a student, just like all of you, I spend hours in my day with constant study sessions. But, the key is to study efficiently. For each course, I create my own study guides that consist of notes, vivid diagrams, and drawings. These have benefitted both myself and my fellow peers. These organizational skills and recourses are something I bring to my students.
As a tutor at Wyzant, I am excited to continue imparting my knowledge to my students and helping them succeed both academically and personally." less...
