"As the first and only college graduate of the family, I understand both the difficulty and importance of obtaining a good education. I am a fervent believer that everyone can learn if given the right amount of support. Because of this conviction, I have found great joy in being a math teacher for the past 10 years. Through Wyzant, I hope to find an even larger platform to reach out to students struggling with algebraic concepts, an important foundation for all higher level math courses.

I specialize in pre-algebra, algebra 1 and algebra 2. Whether the student is struggling with basic algebraic concepts or looking for just an extra push to excel, the key is to break down and feed the material in manageable chunks, one at a time, allowing the students to grasp concepts before challenging them to think and make connections. This approach requires a good amount of patience, respect for each learner, and a scaffolding strategy (start low and progressively increase the difficulty).
