"With 20 years of early childhood and elementary education experience in the classroom and as an administrator, I am looking to help students find ways to be successful by targeting specific learning skills that will carry into their classroom experience. I taught kindergarten and 1st grade, and then was a certified Reading Recovery teacher and Reading Interventionist. I have tutored many students one to one in early reading skills to include reading, vocabulary, spelling patterns, elementary writing, and elementary math skills. I wanted to make a bigger impact so I became an elementary assistant principal, and I am now serving as the principal of an elementary school in Oklahoma.

I held a National Board Certification in Early Childhood Generalist for 10 years, but did not renew because I moved into administration. Going through the National Board Certification documented a reflective teaching practice to improve instruction for students. I obtained a masters degree in educational leadership from Oklahoma State University.

Our district implements collaborative structures used with the Kagan program to engage students in collaborative structured learning experiences. I use these structures with staff and students to develop a collaborative culture and develop learning in a variety of ways." less...
