In addition, my experience collaborating with special education colleagues to assist students with learning disabilities, working in both Special Ed classrooms and content-area classrooms to do so, prepares me to help a wide range of students reach their goals. Texas requires rigorous federal background checks for educator certification, so you are assured that my background is clear.

I have found lately that I enjoy teaching instrumental music to adults online. Adults are fully developed in terms of neurology, motor skills, cognition, etc., and they often bring a rich background of knowledge that we can harness to expedite their music learning and their control over a musical instrument. I look forward to helping you open up to the world of playing musical instruments!
However, as young beginning music students learn best when the teacher is in the same room with them, I will not agree to teach music online to students younger than 10 years. In my opinion, online music lessons are especially difficult for young students because of the demands upon their concentration and motor control, which are still developing. Young students need to get their lessons from a qualified, local teacher with a fun and fascinating place to make music! It is best if parents get involved, too. Observe each lesson, take notes, and guide your child's practice throughout the week - leading up to the next lesson.
