"Greetings students and families,

This response serves as a starting point for you to get to know me. I have over ten years of teaching experience. I am certified to teach and have a Masters in Teaching P-5. Throughout my teaching journey, I have mentored other teachers and individuals interested in becoming teachers. Leaders of the school feel that my approach to both academics and behaviors in school is one that can be modeled and taught to others, so much that I was nominated as an Educator of Color in 2019.

Each year, I have a goal to help my students increase both their math and reading goals by at least a year, while many exceed this goal. This is regardless of their academic levels when entering my classroom, as I have taught in grades 3rd-5th primarily, but have addressed the needs of students from different backgrounds and demographics, as well as learners that are below, on, and above their grade level learning. My approach is to first foster a trust in me as their teacher, to foster a love for learning, and to incorporate approaches to learning such as fast-paced drills, inquiry-based questioning, small group teaching, and gamification, to name a few. I have been successful in this approach in all core subjects, with a strict focus on math fluency and comprehension, reading fluency and comprehension, and writing.

I have assisted students outside as well, and enjoy sharing my expertise in the subjects named above. I hope that you will allow me to assist you and your family with their goals as well.
