"Hello! I’m Ms. H, an experienced elementary teacher and online tutor specializing in reading support and interventions using the Orton-Gillingham approach. I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and was honored with the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award in Education. I hold teaching credentials in Florida and California, including Elementary K-6 with Reading and ESOL endorsements, as well as Spanish K-12. I am also certified TEFL/TESOL Level 5 in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and am Orton-Gillingham trained and on track for certification.

I focus on providing reading support for primary students, whether they are reading below, at, or beyond grade level expectations. The Orton-Gillingham approach is particularly beneficial for students with dyslexia and others who can thrive with a structured, multisensory method. Additionally, I prepare preschool students with the foundational academic skills necessary for kindergarten.

I support homeschooled students and those attending school in reading, writing, and math. I also specialize in bilingual education, particularly for students enrolled in dual language programs and those learning Spanish as a foreign language.

I began my career in preschool, working with children ages 2-5, before transitioning to elementary education as a kindergarten teacher. Most of my elementary experience is in teaching kindergarten and second grade. I have taught in 50/50 and 90/10 English and Spanish dual language programs. I volunteered as an English teacher in Brazil, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, where I taught preschool, school-aged, and adult students.
