"My 35 years of teaching include public, private, and college level instruction. In addition, I have tutored students individually in all areas of the language arts. I have taught the reading and writing components for SAT and GED preparation. I find tutoring extremely rewarding because students can freely express their questions and misunderstandings, thereby receiving immediate feedback and experiencing personal satisfaction and self confidence.
My expertise includes the teaching of all aspects of English language arts, specifically critical reading strategies, advanced levels of vocabulary, literature, grammar, and writing skills. Recently retired from public education, my schedule can be very flexible. Providing tutoring sessions at the local library would be quite convenient. I look forward to helping students who understand the value of a good education in today's competitive world.
I have years of experience in all the language arts, and I am knowledgeable in state standards and Core Curriculum. I have written curriculum and evaluated test questions for state testing. I am highly experienced in the scaffolding students need to increase their understandings. I am patient and understand that all students learn at different rates and in different ways.
I look forward to working with you and hope you will contact me soon. There is no time to waste when it comes to getting a superior education." less...
