"Hello! As a certified English/Language Arts teacher, I understand the importance of reaching students on an individual level. When students are struggling, they can feel frustrated or discouraged, especially when their difficulty lies in an area as essential to learning as reading and writing. With four years of tutoring experience and a year of teaching with Leon County Schools, I am passionate about education and tutoring in particular, as I have seen the exceptional progress students make when given the chance to work with instructors in a one-on-one setting.
I hold a BA in English and an MS in English Teaching, both from Florida State University. I specialize in grades 6-12, but I have worked with students of all proficiency and age levels, from Kindergarten to college. I offer tutoring in all Language Arts-related areas: Reading comprehension, essay writing, creative writing, SAT/ACT prep, spelling/grammar.
I also hold a TESOL endorsement and am qualified to teach students who are speakers of other languages.
