"I believe in every student's right to enjoy learning! I’ve had the privilege of working at various types of schools in a diversity of locations. In Guayaquil, Ecuador I taught in a PK-12 American International School. In 2021, my wife and I moved back to the United States where I worked within one of the State of New Mexico’s “Transformational Opportunity Pilot Schools. ” There, I coordinated our grade level English Language Development program in conjunction with the school's bilingual English/Spanish program. Following that school year, I began work at a public charter school that seeks to integrate the benefits of the Montessori education model with the Common Core State Standards. Each of these places have helped me grow and develop as an educator. I’ve learned from private education, traditional community schools and most recently in a public Montessori school.
I have experience working 1-on-1 with students ranging in ages 6-12 and I have extensive experience helping kids develop literacy skills: phonological & awareness, oral language, writing and reading.
