I am a Chesapeake Public Schools teacher, with 16 years of experience in elementary and special education. I hold a Master's Degree and have also taken several additional courses specific to teaching reading, as well as working with children with autism and behavioral needs. I currently teach special education and work with children on the autism spectrum, and have proven success with academics and behavior. While I am able to teach all subjects to elementary students, I do specialize in reading and have proven success using the Wilson system to teach children how to decode.

I've worked with students who are reading several grades below grade level due to phonics and decoding weaknesses, and have taught them how to decode and read fluently!
