"My name is Mirey E. I have a Master’s degree in Education and a Bachelor’s degree in English. Throughout my 7 years of experience, I have taught many grades, and students with all kinds of special needs, in-person and online. I taught in-person 4th grade (general education), 6th grade (English), 8th grade (English), and 1st-3rd grade (ESL). Virtually, I have taught early literacy for grades PreK-2nd, as well as adult group-class ESL. I am currently certified with my teaching license in the state of North Carolina in K-6 (general education) and 6-9 (English).

I am passionate about all things English Language Arts related, especially the science of reading. I teach reading using curriculums that follow the science of reading, specifically ones that use linguistic phonics, which I incorporate when I teach ESL. I teach ESL students using texts that are interesting and relevant. I know how to engage children, as well as adults, because I am very personable and also up beat! I know how to figure out a student's exact needs and start from there!
