"I was raised in a bi-lingual home speaking French and English since childhood. Traveling to France each summer to visit family, I was able to immerse myself in the French language and culture. I subsequently went to the University of Michigan and completed my degree at Oakland University. My final year of teaching certification was completed in France for a full academic year. I earned my bachelor's degree with teaching certification and became a certified French and English teacher for middle and high school levels.

I began teaching in the Detroit area and eventually moved to northern Michigan where I taught all levels, including elementary school, French. Middle school language arts and high school literature and writing were also part of my career.

In French class my methodology included skits, TPR, matching, games, reading aloud, pronunciation exercises, conversational practice, visual learning, and music. We even cooked crepes in class while students learned to order food and have basic conversation while at a restaurant.

In English, I teach the Key-Hole Method to essay writing. This gives students a clear outline/guide on how to organize their essay. I taught the students to use descriptive vocabulary and the "words to avoid" while incorporating grammar practice. I also guided students to complete their "writing process" which includes brainstorming, drafts, and revisions. In literature, frequent comprehension checks are accomplished through diagrams, time lines, finding examples of literary terms such as "foreshadowing" and the like.
