"Hi, I'm Matt!

I am Teacher certified in 2 different states with experience in Math, Technology, Science, and Music. I've worked with students from 5th to 12th grade as well as college and adult learners. I am also certified in Special Education and have worked at schools supporting at-risk youth with restorative practices.

I love teaching and love learning. It brings me a lot of joy to help you figure out what you might be missing and how you can improve your skills. In tutoring sessions, we can get you caught up on any knowledge gaps, work to practice what you are already learning, or dive into new concepts, skills, or interests. Whatever you need, I would develop a personalized plan that is best suited to your goals.

My PA certifications include all subjects 4 to 6, Math 4 to 8, Social Studies 4 to 8, Special Education PK to 8, and Private Secondary Math 9 to 12.

My MD certifications include Middle-Level Math 4 to 9 and Special Education 1 to 8 & 6 to adult.

My specific experience includes teaching Math to 6th through 9th grade students at PCS (private school), teaching Math, Science, and Music to 9th through 12th grade students at CSF (school for at-risk students) and teaching Technology & Economics to 9th through 12th grade students at BLS (Special Education Art School). I’ve also taught through covid so I have experience with virtual learning if it would be easier to meet online than in person.

Besides teaching those core subjects I also love playing Music and have been in multiple ensembles; from jazz to indie to progressive rock. I’ve also become a hobbyist 3D printer. So if you are interested in beginner guitar, drums, music theory, or CAD design and 3D printing we could discuss opportunities to tutor in those areas as well.
