Hello, my name is Makia. I am a certified teacher who has over 10 years experience teaching in Prince George's County, Baltimore City, and Harford County in the state of Maryland. I started as a fourth-grade self-contained teacher (teaching all subjects) and then eventually became the fourth-grade reading teacher at Potomac Landing in Fort Washington, MD. After moving to the Baltimore area, I taught fourth-grade Literacy and Social Studies at Gwynns Falls Elementary and various grade levels and subject areas in Harford County, MD. I have extensive experience working with students with special needs, and homeschooled children.

I believe that today's children are not as successful in school because the curriculum being taught is a "cookie-cutter" program that is delivered to all students the same way.
