I am a certified teacher and have taught all grades from Kindergarten through 8th grade. I teach phonics based reading, traditional math up through Algebra I, and everything in between. Before tutoring with your child, I like to meet or conference with parent(s) to discuss your challenges with and goals for your child. Then, when first meeting with your child, I will assess their learning style, determine a baseline of ability and grade level, and set concrete goals for our time together. After each session, I set aside 10 minutes to update you on your child's progress, let you know what your student should work on (short homework assignment) to ensure timely progress reaching our mutual tutoring goals, as well as answer any questions or concerns you may have.
