"I have been teaching for almost 20 years. I love helping kids achieve their goals while having fun and learning new skills that will help them throughout their lives. I am currently a 2nd grade teacher at Sam Hughes Elementary School. Some of the jobs I have had in education include, teacher, reading specialist and special education teacher. I was a reading specialist for six years, helping students (k-6) learn to read, comprehend, write and build their vocabularies.

I understand what it takes to become a good reader. Phonics is a foundational skill needed to build reading skills and strategies. I have many fun ways to help students build their foundational skills thus becoming better readers.

I taught art in public schools for 9 years. Teaching Painting is my favorite. I have also painted murals at several school in Tucson.
