"I recently retired after 29 years in the classroom. I taught second through sixth grade in all subjects across the state of South Carolina. I have also tutored within the school setting and outside as well. I have certification in early childhood and elementary education from Erskine College in Due West, SC. I am certified through 2020. I enjoy tutoring because it's one on one and I can narrow in on specific needs of student. I am working as a sub in multiple counties.

I use hands on methods to help students get from concrete understanding to abstract. Teaching math is a process. Math can be learned when student understands the process and logic to determining answers.

I have experience in multiple strategies from unit study, whole language, four block and balanced literacy (currently being used in most schools).

I also have experience with hands on science and Social Studies. I have successfully work with students on study skills improving grades and attitude towards school.
