"I am a former first and fifth grade teacher. I have attended numerous professional development in-services about the Standards of Learning and how to align instruction and assessments by using the Curriculum Framework and other resources developed by the Virginia Department of Education. I have experience with designing and implementing lesson plans and various types of assessments specifically correlated to all first grade and fifth grade math and science students.
I am certified to teach Grades PreK through 6 in the state of Virginia. And I have a love for teaching & learning. I am a firm believer that learning should be fun and interesting in order to foster a lifelong love of learning. I consider myself a lifelong learner and aim to inspire my students to love learning as well.
I have worked in the classroom with students of all ages but have found that my strength is in working one-on-one. I believe that in teaching students how to set and achieve goals, they become invested, independent, and self-motivated learners. These are life lessons that will help students to grow into responsible and productive citizens. I always look forward to helping each of my students find their love of learning and achieve success in the process.
