Please allow me to introduce myself by welcoming you to my Educational Background, and tutoring experience page. My name is Sabita. and I am a Certified Teacher in the State of Texas with the following certifications: PPR & Generalist EC-4. I possess a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston - Downtown. I believe that the curiosity to learn is inspired by the passion to teach. Although I am a recent graduate from the University of Houston - Downtown, I have had lifelong experiences with teaching and tutoring.

Educational Background

To begin, my background is of paramount importance on why I should be considered as a tutor for you or your child. I have a sister who is 16 years old who has Down syndrome. Her birth changed my life forever. Ever since she was born, I was designated as her primary source for tutoring and teaching outside of the schooling system. Her disability has provided me with excellent life experiences as well as the chance to become a better friend, sister, and daughter to my family. Ever since she was a baby, I was there with hands on techniques, utilizing manipulatives and collaborative teaching to ensure that she understands the material. In effect, I have experience with the most difficult of students, those who not only do not understand the material, but who because of conditions out of their control have a more difficult time understanding the material. I believe that teaching a child to read is imperative for their future success. My sister's existence is what drives me to be a teacher. In fact, I have to say the reason I am here wanting to help you is because of her.

My perspective on teaching style rests with my basic belief that children should learn by doing rather than watching.
