Teaching is my passion and I am looking forward to going back to the classroom full-time in the next few years. I believe every student has the ability to succeed when given the right tools and opportunities. Each student has a different learning style and it is the job of the teacher to find the way to learn that suits them best. A student that learns to believe in themselves and become confident in their abilities will go far in life.
I understand the Common Core way of teaching math and breaking down the subject to ensure success of understanding the curriculum.
Breaking down the science and showing how science is all around us is how I introduce this subject. Showing students that science is exciting and a part of our everyday life promotes interest and proper study of the world we live in!
My great-aunt makes me overqualified in this subject! All kidding aside, I grew up in a home where grammar wasn’t corrected daily! Teaching children the rules of the English language actually improves comprehension skills in reading and other subjects.
I have an immediate family member that works with this disorder on a daily basis. I understand the challenges and intellectual ability a person with ADHD walks through everyday.
I have a great deal of experience in the K-6 grade levels and enjoy working with students to help them achieve their academic and personal goals. Each student becomes special to me and also teaches me new things as we work together to help them achieve!
