"I'm a senior at North Carolina State University, majoring in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry. I'm originally from Winston-Salem, NC but live in the Raleigh area now. I have been a TA and tutor on campus for 3 years now in addition to the tutoring I did in high school. Because of the pandemic, I have experience with both in person and online sessions. I mostly work with college students now that I'm employed by the university, but I have past experience with AP classes for high schoolers and basic math for elementary and middle schoolers.

My approach to tutoring is based on gaining understanding of the concepts, not just memorizing them. While this looks different for different students, it starts with having a solid grasp of the fundamentals before adding details to them. I understand that each student has different preferences and I do my best to cater to them, whether that involves a lecture on the material, working through practice problems, or talking through more complicated examples.

I absolutely love learning and teaching, which is why I have been so involved in it throughout my college career. I have been a TA for organic chemistry (1 and 2, alternating semesters) for 6 semesters now, which is why it's not surprising that it's my favorite to teach. However, I've never made less than an A in any of my science classes and have experience assisting with many other courses. Since taking the MCAT and scoring a 522 (131/131/128/132) this past year, I've also done test prep sessions.
