"My name is Orlando, I have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a master’s degree in biology both from the university of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus. The chemistry bachelors included many math courses where I learned to appreciate the subject. During my master’s studies I had my first experience teaching as a TA (teaching assistant) where I discovered my passion for teaching. I helped teach biological science laboratory and general biology laboratory for 4 years to young adults. For one year I was a math tutor for 3 high school students. Later while working as a biologist, I was giving the opportunity to be a math tutor to 2 additional high school students for a semester. I discovered I really enjoy teaching math to kids to help them practice and figure out which areas need more effort.

I am from Puerto Rico, so I speak Spanish and English fluently which will help me teach Spanish to anyone looking to improve in conversational Spanish. Additionally, I have basic knowledge in DSLR cameras due to the graduate course scientific photography I took as a master’s student.
