"I grew up in Pasadena, CA and have graduated with a BA degree in chemistry from the University of Delaware back in 2013. I currently work at UC San Diego as a staff research associate IV at the School of Pharmacy working mainly in pharmaceutical analysis and other relevant chemistry applications. I have taken all relevant undergraduate chemistry courses including general, analytical, environmental and organic chemistry as well as AP Chemistry when I was in high school. I have been tutoring students in math and chemistry since 2011, which has given me lots of experience with a disparate group of students and classes. I think chemistry is really interesting and enjoy helping other people understand why I like it so much. I see applied chemistry in so many aspects of our world and I believe helping students see chemistry in their day to day helps them understand chemistry concepts. I know that not every student will go on to work in chemistry, which is why I think real world applications are so important. It is much easier to learn an abstract chemist concept when it is connected to something a student can see or feel.
I graduated from South Pasadena High School in 2009 and took AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and AP Calculus there. I also worked as an Intern for Peregrine Pharmaceuticals in Tustin, CA, working in Quality Control. In addition, I have spent time as a chemist in environmental analysis labs for many years, so my chemistry experience and knowledge is quite broad. I would be happy to be a resource for any student interested in any of these fields." less...
