"I have been teaching chemistry for over 10 years at different universities and colleges. These range from the University of Dresden, Germany where I obtained my Masters, the University of Auckland, New Zealand during my PhD and the University of Queensland, Australia in my Postdoctoral years.
Since 2022 I’m teaching my own chemistry classes at Hood College and Frederick Community college. These include general chemistry 1 and 2 (CHEM 6A, CHEM 6B and CHEM 6C), general inorganic chemistry 1 and 2 and chemistry for non-science majors. Since my early years of teaching I had the opportunity to introduce and advance hundreds of students into the field of chemistry, prepare them for upcoming exams, quizzes, assignments and test. During this time, I identified many topics and concepts students tend to struggle with and develop methods the help students to master these concepts.
Previously I have been conducting research (Computational Chemistry based on DFT, VASP) at the National Institute of Standards and Technologies.
Among other I do cover the following topic in class:
Stoichiometry
Balancing Equations
Ideal Gas Law & Real Gas Laws
Quantum Numbers & Electron Configuration & Orbital Diagrams
Thermodynamics I & II
Lewis Model & Structures
VSEPR Theory
Molecular Orbital - Theory
Intermolecular Forces
Unit conversion
Chemical Kinetics & Reaction Kinetics
Phase Diagrams and Heating Curves
Chemical Equilibria
Acids and Bases
Buffer Solutions
Electrochemistry
Radiation and Nuclear Chemistry
