"When I teach I try to instill a deep love for the subject matter. My philosophy is that a student cannot be forced to learn but must want to learn. I achieve this by individualizing my lessons for each student and their playing style. Everyone learns differently and each lesson reflects this fact.

Before our first lesson, I encourage students to tell me a little about themselves and what they hope to get out of the lessons. During our first lesson, I try to establish a baseline of skill to build upon in future lessons. At the end of our lessons, and only If the student wishes, fun work may be assigned to reinforce concepts learned during the lesson."
