"I am a native Chinese speaker. I speak Mandarin and Shanghai Dialect. I majored in English Linguistics in college and taught English in Fudan University in Shanghai, China. I came to USA 20 years ago. I received an MBA in Finance, and worked many years in the fields of finance and business administration in NYC and MD. I left the workforce for several years to become a full time mom for my son. I have teaching experience and am fluent in both Chinese and English. That will make me a great tutor to teach English speaking students Chinese.

I have been teaching my son advanced English grammar and math at home. At age of 8, his reading and math levels are currently at 7th grade level. He has skipped a grade last year and is in the gifted program in the 4th grade now. It is a very self-satisfactory experience to see my son advance way above his peers and to be so proud of him. My experience being a full-time mom makes me realize that I really enjoy teaching young kids and seeing them advance above their peers or catch up with their peers if they are currently behind.

1. Chinese/Mandarin:

As for teenagers and adults, I'd like to use the book "Chinese for Beginners: Mastering Conversational Chinese" by Yi Ren. You can get the book on Amazon. As for younger kids, I can start with "Tuttle More Chinese for Kids Flash Cards Simplified Character Editio" (Tuttle Flash Cards). I can also use the book you recommend, or make up some learning material by myself based on what you are interested in.

2, English Grammar and Math:

I have several good sources of learning material that I've used to teach my son. But you are welcome to recommend any books that you want me to teach you.
