"My name is Dr. Michael D and I began my college career at Tidewater Community College and earned my AS in 1993. I transferred to James Madison University and got my BS in 1996. I got married and worked for a few years before deciding to go to chiropractic school at Life University where I earned my DC in 2004. I have been a practicing chiropractor since 2004. When my wife was transferred to the Des Moines area for work, I began teaching at Grand View University in the Biology department as an adjunct from 2008-2017. I also was working at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) as a Biology adjunct 2008-2020, and then in the Biology department as faculty member from 2021-present. At both schools I taught both biology and anatomy and physiology. When I was as student at Life University, I worked as human cadaver lab intern tutoring students in A&P cadaver lab. I worked for many years in the DMACC Academic Achievement Center when I was an adjunct tutoring students in biology and A&P. I have 16 years of teaching biology, anatomy and physiology at the community college and university level.
As a practicing chiropractor, I see patients each week and I am involved with proctoring Part IV of the National Boards each year at Palmer for the chiropractic students. I review students as they preform orthopedic, neurological, adjusting set-ups as well as taking focused medical histories. I have been doing this since 2016. I have special insight into the national board process of testing for both chiropractic and nursing students as I teach A&P at DMACC getting these students ready to pass their boards. I look forward to help you!" less...
